About Rebecca

Rebecca is Managing Director, Head of Investment Management and helps to invest and manage Big Society Capital’s portfolio as well as leading its approach to learning and ESG.

Rebecca has spent time on secondment with M&G to support the development of its Impact Investment Strategy and also the design and launch of Catalyst, a £5 billion global mandate focused on innovative private assets and broad impact from ESG to Sustainable and Impact Investments. Prior to joining Big Society Capital in 2015, Rebecca worked in the charity sector and across the UK Government including to develop policies for green finance, low-income workers, and community assets.

She believes that learning is essential to improve outcomes for people and the planet and in that spirit is the Chair of the CFA UK’s Impact and Investing Panel which is developing the world’s first Impact Investment qualification and part of the Impact Investing Institute’s Learning Panel

Rebecca is Big Society Capital’s appointed Non-Executive Director of Charity Bank and a member of the Growth Fund Investment Committee. She is also a member of Trust for London’s £360m Endowment Asset Allocation Committee.

She is a CFA Charterholder and holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing and a MSc in International Development from SOAS where she specialised in the role of social enterprises to achieve development outcomes for people experiencing poverty.
