Dougie Sloan is an Investment Director at Big Society Capital. He leads Big Society Capital’s venture investment programme, which backs venture capital funds that invest in mission driven startups.
Dougie joined Big Society Capital on secondment from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in 2016, to help construct BSC's new strategy, and became a member of the investment team full time in 2017. At BCG, he worked with media, finance, healthcare, energy, consumer, and social impact clients on a range of strategic and operational projects.
Dougie is a trustee at Carefree, a social care charity providing breaks for unpaid carers through a tech platform connecting them to hotels and cottages. He has also mentored and provided strategic advice to a number of social enterprises and charities. He holds a degree from the University of Oxford in History and Economics.
