Anna joined Big Society Capital in November 2012. Since then she has been particularly focused on our investments into social banks and social property funds. Following Big Society Capital’s investment into Charity Bank in March 2014, she has been a member of their Board.
Anna co-ordinates Big Society Capital's Issue-Based Groups and the co-development of investment ideas that arise from these. She has been exploring how social investment could be used to tackle the UK’s housing crisis and achieve better outcomes for those people worst affected. She has also been involved in efforts to use social investment to build stronger, more cohesive communities across the country. Anna leads a project to consider how social investment could be relevant for arts, heritage and sports organisations that achieve strong social outcomes. Her focus on these social issues aligns to a strong personal interest in the arts, architecture and the built environment.
Anna was previously a Director in Merrill Lynch’s Financial Institutions Group where she advised UK banks and insurers on strategy, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions. Unbeknownst to many she studied Experimental Psychology before this - and is Scottish.
